Our Work
PADC uses three core tools to organize its work.

Liaisons: Our city, school and community liaisons partner with their respective stakeholders to create and implement policies that further our goal of racial equity.

Grants: Through our grant program we use the donations we receive to support community work that is aligned with our mission.
​
Community Education: A significant portion of our events programming is facilitated by experts in racial equity and inclusion and are designed to enhance attendees’ racial equity knowledge and further community dialogue.

PADC works with several community partners to advance the shared values of racial equity, diversity and inclusion. We would like to highlight two of our long standing community relationships
Piedmont Education Foundation
The Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF), is the primary fundraising organization for Piedmont schools, and aims to raise over $3 million annually for Piedmont Unified Schools District (PUSD). PEF helps organize, coordinate and track community partners fundraising efforts for the Piedmont schools. Through our PEF partnership, PADC has been able to raise and fund grants to the Piedmont schools that encourage and support a more diverse and inclusive Piedmont school environment. Appreciating Diversity Film Series
Since 1997 the Appreciating Diversity Film Series (ADFS) has provided venues to view documentary films that examine issues of diversity. During the community discussions following these viewings, ADFS encourages community dialogue about institutionalized power imbalances, broadens awareness, challenges assumptions, and encourages audiences to work toward a more just world.
PADC has partnered with ADFS in various capacities since its inception, and currently acts as an ADFS thought partner. To learn more about the work ADFS is engaged in, please visit here.
