Calling all artists and writers!

PADC invites K-12 students to contribute art and writing to be showcased at our annual MLK Day Celebration!

All contributors will be entered into a raffle to win one of ten $25 gift cards.

DEADLINE:

  • Friday, Jan. 15, 2025

THEME:

  • In a sermon in Memphis, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “I never intend to adjust myself to segregation and discrimination. I never intend to become adjusted to religious bigotry. I never intend to adjust myself to economic conditions that will take necessities from the many to give luxuries to the few.”  What does this quote mean to you?

HOW TO SUBMIT:

  • You can submit your work here or drop it off at your school (Wildwood, Beach, Havens, PMS, MHS or PHS) If you are dropping off, please download and fill out this form and then attach it to the back of your work.


* Submit a piece of 2-D art, photo, essay, or poem in response to this year's theme. 

* Artwork can be of any medium but must be flat, scannable, and no larger than 8.5" x 11" inches. 

* Essays should be no more than 500 words. Poetry should be no more than two pages.

Submit your best work! One piece of art and one poem or essay per student will be showcased and entered into the raffle.
